And you guys are really nice, polite, not cocky-Starbucks-a**holes, and with everything aforementioned I cannot imagine a better place to do homework. Especially considering that I do not have an internet connection at my apartment, and Java Nation's WiFi is superfast! And the coffee and pastries are good too, which is a plus. Java Nation's wonderful owner Jim has been tossing around the idea of forming a mostly Japanese, mostly 50cc-ish scooter gang for quite some time now, and I -uh, he, feels like there are enough people around to get it goin' on! After meeting Luke tonight and his battle-ready camo'ed Honda Elite he said to himself... Oh yeah, it's time... So if you have a scooter and want to get together once a month or so and go terrorize the town, drop Jim a line at jim@javanationcoffee.com and leave your contact info with "scoot" in the subject line. There is also a Facebook scooty page in the works too for organizing rides. If you are on the Facebook, why aren't you friends with Java Nation? Nathan Botsford grew up in the Portland area and has been here every since. He started playing piano and guitar at a young age and began writing music at age 13. His style of music is very unique and memorable. Many can relate to his music and lyrics. He writes with a passion and drive that is very rare in artists. I am currently working on an easy to use, portable (when carried,) directory of locally owned businesses so you can easily find places to spend your hard earned cash dollars that will keep the maximum amount of said dough right here in our local community! Now more than ever it is critical to be conscious of where the money you spend goes- local business need your support to make it thru these tough times. Make a conscious effort to go to places you love whenever you can, to help make sure those places will still be here for you to enjoy for years to come. It is my personal opinion that very soon everything will require a major downsize from where we are now and by building our local economy now we are setting ourselves up for success if/when that does happen. To quote one of my favorite authors, James Howard Kunstler, "The era of the 3,000 mile caesar salad is over."
